This is a real-time livestream of the Northern Lights in Fairbanks, Alaska

The camera is a Full Frame camera with a 20mm lens giving a 94° field of view. The video is feed is captured at 24fps for a real-time experience. As long as the feed is running smoothly, you’re seeing what we’re seeing in real time with a 10-15 second delay.

Please note that the smoothness and quality of the feed depend on a satellite internet connection, which, while generally sufficient, may experience occasional outages affecting the stream's quality and availability.

If the screen appears black, it's likely due to cloud cover or snow on the camera lens, obstructing the view of the sky. If it seems like daytime during the night, with stars visible, consider checking the moon phase, as a full moon can create a daylight effect for the camera. Should you notice any perceived instability or movement in the camera, it's probably a result of strong winds in the area.

Feel free to share screenshots of the video feed on social media to spread the joy of current Aurora activity. However, kindly note that the usage of footage and the livestream is strictly prohibited. If you're interested in licensing footage from this camera or any of our other captivating Northern Lights videos, please use the Contact Us form.
